Trivium Packaging, a leading global provider of metal packaging solutions, has been honored with a WorldStar Global Packaging Award 2026 by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). The award recognizes the company’s Budweiser NFL Aluminium Bottle in the Labelling and Decorations category, highlighting its excellence in design and innovation.

Trivium developed the special aluminium bottle for Budweiser Brazil to mark the brand’s role as the official sponsor of the first NFL game ever held in São Paulo, Brazil. The 330ml bottle is an exclusive, collectible item, inspired by the historic matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.

Crafted using cutting-edge aluminium manufacturing and printing technologies, the bottle boasts multi-color, high-resolution decorations enhanced by varnish and enamel coatings. These elements combine to create a premium, eye-catching finish, while the intricate artwork further elevates its appeal as a collectible piece.

Usability was a key focus in the bottle’s design, featuring an optimized neck height and shape to improve grip and handling for consumers. The 330ml volume is specifically tailored for individual, on-the-go consumption directly from the bottle—offering convenience while helping to minimize waste.

Sustainability was also integral to the bottle’s development. It was produced at a facility powered by zero-emissions electricity, with certifications in energy efficiency (ISO 50001) and environmental management (ISO 14001). Made from an advanced aluminium alloy, the bottle is up to 80% lighter than glass alternatives, reducing both material usage and carbon emissions. Additionally, aluminium is a permanently recyclable material, supporting circularity and aligning with global sustainability goals.

The WorldStar Awards are evaluated by an international panel of packaging experts from WPO member countries, celebrating solutions that excel in technical innovation, consumer-focused design, and environmental responsibility. Luciana Pellegrino, President of the WPO, noted that this year’s awards underscore the growing strategic significance of the WorldStar program—not just as a recognition platform, but as a driver of impactful change in the packaging industry.
