A subsidiary of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited is set to make a major industrial investment to expand the country’s local packaging manufacturing capabilities. As confirmed by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Jenson & Nicholson Packaging Limited plans to inject approximately $13.7 million into building a brand-new manufacturing plant at the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ).
The upcoming industrial facility is projected to bring substantial economic benefits to Bangladesh. Once fully operational, the project will generate roughly 600 local employment opportunities, helping boost job creation in the manufacturing sector. Beyond employment growth, the new factory will also play a vital role in reinforcing and enriching the nation’s domestic industrial supply chain, reducing reliance on imported packaging materials.
Built on a land area of 6.34 acres under the official cooperation agreement, the new factory will produce a diverse range of packaging products. Its core product lineup includes rigid plastic pails, industrial-grade paint containers, food-safe packaging solutions, and professional metal packaging items. The construction and operation of the facility are designed to support the backward integration strategy of parent company Berger Paints, while significantly scaling up Bangladesh’s overall local packaging production capacity to meet rising industrial market demand.
The official partnership and investment deal has been formally signed by representatives from both parties. BEZA’s Executive Member for Investment Development Saleh Ahmed and Jenson & Nicholson Director Rupali Haque Chowdhury completed the signing ceremony on behalf of their respective organizations, marking the official launch of this key local manufacturing expansion project.
